Tears

I feel my tears drop
Like leaves off a fruitless tree
Into the clear stream

I’m participating in the Writing 201 poetry course. This is my first contribution. The prompt was to write a Haiku (A Japanese structure: three lines containing five, seven, and five syllables, respectively) using water as a theme, and including a simile as well. So this is my contribution. I’ll appreciate, your views, criticisms and comments. How can you relate to this?

  1. It’s so incredible that someone can actually sit down and write a three line poem. With the evidence of the use of linguistic elements, that is the use of initial capitalization at the beginning of every sentence, first person singular, the use of imagery and simile to express such emotional feelings. Great work. Its emotional but still leaves us to wonder out of curiosity “what caused the tears?” Great job.
