I feel my tears drop
Like leaves off a fruitless tree
Into the clear stream
I’m participating in the Writing 201 poetry course. This is my first contribution. The prompt was to write a Haiku (A Japanese structure: three lines containing five, seven, and five syllables, respectively) using water as a theme, and including a simile as well. So this is my contribution. I’ll appreciate, your views, criticisms and comments. How can you relate to this?

Thanks for sharing, your words , the form and the links. 😉
You are welcome.. I appreciate your positive feedback 🙂
Excellent form plus vivid imagery.I have a question though. Why tears? Makes it feel sad 🙁
Thanks Adesewa.. Tears because it’s something every one can relate to. We sometimes learn more depths and truths in sadness than in happiness
It’s so incredible that someone can actually sit down and write a three line poem. With the evidence of the use of linguistic elements, that is the use of initial capitalization at the beginning of every sentence, first person singular, the use of imagery and simile to express such emotional feelings. Great work. Its emotional but still leaves us to wonder out of curiosity “what caused the tears?” Great job.
Thank you Oluwagbenga.. I appreciate your kind comment
